Business Development Manager

Our client operates a specialised engineering company in Hamilton and an opportunity has arisen to appoint a Business Development Manager focused on identifying new markets and managing existing customer relationships.

Supplying both domestic and international markets, the core business is design and fabrication of stainless steel solutions for manufacture of products like tanks, silos, vessels and plant equipment. They have in-house capability for mechanical design, equipment specification and project management through to installation and commissioning.

Reporting to the Directors, this role will be tasked with:

  • maintaining current customer relationships,
  • actively seeking and securing new opportunities,
  • developing and delivering the agreed marketing plan,
  • negotiating contractual arrangements and presenting tenders, plus
  • meeting and reporting on sales and marketing targets.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be technically minded, preferably having worked in business development in the engineering industry. You will need solid evidence of creating business growth in a previous position and be able to demonstrate exceptional relationship management skills. A degree in either engineering or business is preferred, but not essential.

As a person, you will need to be a goal-focused worker with a positive attitude, strong communication skills and good quality business networks in a variety of industries. Due to recent staffing changes and the continued growth of the business we are now seeking to appoint an experienced part time HR Advisor to our Waikato based team.

The ideal candidate will have sound general HR experience, ideally some knowledge of H & S systems and solid HR administration experience including developing employment agreements, job descriptions, policies and procedures and a working knowledge of the Employment Relations Act 2000 and other relevant employment related legislation.

The role is a part time one with a minimum of three full days per week. For the right applicant additional hours could be negotiated.
